What are the chances of the verizon version of the razr maxx having 2 way video calling? I saw it on the specs of the phone on some websites but will verizon be able to support that? And how does the video calling work? Do you have to talk on speaker phone while the camera points at you? Or you do wear a headset to keep the conversation private?

I'm sorry to say, there will be no video calling, like on the GSM version (RAZR maxx V6). The VGA camera that was on the GSM version was replaced by a 2-step shutter release button. You can find all the information that is currently available over at my other website ( www.MaxxVe.co.nr).

Well initially I had said that I expected a February 26th release date (online), which, in reality, would make the phone available the following week, March 5th. I have now become skeptical because of the lack of details that have emerged in the last week or so (usually you hear more about a phone prior to its release, not less). If March 5th passes and st ill no word, then the phone may have gotten scrapped last minute (thats the speculation over at Howard Forums) or just pushed back a little too make way for the new V CAST Mobile TV, which is expected out March 1st.

This is true. Chances are someone would have heard something about the phone and nobody knows anything. Some people on Howard forums are saying that they talked to people at verizon or they have an inside source and think the phone will be announced or released sometime this month but those could just be rumors, no one can say for sure.

I went into a Verizon store this past Saturday and asked about the phone. One employee told me that the first he had heard about it was earlier that morning when he saw it listed on their machine that does phone book transfers. He knew nothing else about it.

I think I'm going to try calling every verizon store or customer service line I can to look into that or to see if they have any info at all.

Sorry guys, still no word on anything new, but I'm not sure if stores would be receiving much information as of yet. I know a little over a week ago the maxx Ve popped up on Verizon's Infomanager, and thats about all that the stores have access to. I would expect the first sighting to be over on Verizon's testman site on Sunday (at best).

What is the testman site all about? And what is the url?

The testman site is the site Verizon generally uses to make sure their website runs smoothly and everything, usually things are put up on there before actual changes are made on the real VZW site. The link is: testman.verizonwireless.com/ and for the area code, I recommend putting in 99999. If you click on the phones link they have their new Samsung SCH-u620 already posted, which is tentatively scheduled to come out March 1st.

Dude, are you kidding me? We have to wait another 2-3 months. I've been waiting for 4 months already. crap pure crap. Someone needs to get inside details. Also, Jason you should post a link to your HoFo source so we can read it too.

There is no HoFo source saying that it will be another 2-3 months. Everyone is just assuming that it has been pushed back because "no definite information" has been released yet. I've heard from a friend at VZW that it has been approved and they are waiting delivery. He has not heard a delay or cancellation. I think we gotta wait til atleast the previously expected release date of end of Feb. and beginning of March before we start worrying about a summer release.

It has to come soon. The phone was supposed to be out in like october or something. Now it is expected to be here within the next couple of weeks. There's no way they can push it back another couple months again.

Where did you hear that it is supposed to be here within the next couple of weeks? Is that just according to the rumors floating around?
