I recently bought a used ibook and it has no hard drive. When I turn it on the startup chime happens but nothing comes up on the screen. Is there any way to fix it?

Well you have to have a hard drive to actually use it, whats the model of your iBook?

I know I need a hard drive but the screen only shows strange blobs of light or lines if it doesn't show that it will show nothing. even without a hard drive it is supposed to show a picture of a folder with a question mark. It is a G3.

Can you take a picture of it? You may have a busted LCD screen or mobo.

The battery is out of power and i don't have a charger so i cant turn it on anymore. i don't think its the lcd screen because i have gotten the screen to turn on but it didn't show anything useful. Once i have gotten the screen to show the correct thing by reseting the pmu. I think it is the video chip and i cant replace that.

If you're looking for good computer deals you can check out slickdeals.net or fatwallet.com
Slickdeals is by far my favorite and I've been using it for a couple of years, definitely a great place to find the latest and greatest deals.
